These beliefs and behaviors underscore the SPIRITUAL SELF. This aspect of some of us is fully in control of everything we do and can in the extreme cause us to deny our very humanity. The SPIRITUAL SELF has distinct ideas about what is spiritual and what is not and has a judgmental perspective about ego, materialism and possessions. When we blend this Primary Self with the repressed or disowned aspects that constitute more engagement with humanity, we are afforded the joy and pleasures that are part of our human experience. The adage that ‘we are spiritual beings having a human experience’ then becomes possible to fully engage.
